Demonstration Station for renewable electricity to areas without electricity

Skyllermarks has installed a demonstration center for renewable distributed power generation in Colombia. The station is powered by both wind and solar power and is equiped with batteries for storing a couple of days of energy and to be able to work without a grid.

Bilder ColombiaThe backbone of Skyllermarks demonstration station consists of an extremely quiet wind turbine. It is in this case supplemented by solar cells and batteries. Skyllermarks range of connectors and cables also have a key function of the whole concept.

"Our demonstration station combines the technologies needed to produce renewable electricity without a grid." says Stefan Skyllermarks, CEO. "The wind power plant is small and quiet, and in combination with batteries you can cope for days even without any wind or sun."

Skyllermarks has used its unique expertise from electrical systems in marine environments to assemble a system that works well on land too. The system serves as a comprehensive solution that provides housing in Latin America, which previously lacked access to an electrical grid, entirely new opportunities.

In addition, the system is scalable and can be complemented in order to provide electricity to larger consumers.

"We see a large market for our distributed systems in Latin America," says Stefan Skyllermarks, CEO. "Europe does not have the same market potential as more people are covered by the electrical grid. There is great interest and now we have demonstrated that the technology is working properly."
